WHAT WE DO

The Registrar – General’s Department carries out the following services:

• Registration of Limited Liability Companies
• Registration of External Companies
• Registration of Companies Limited by Guarantee
• Official Liquidations
• Incorporation of Partnerships
• Registration of Business Names/Subsidiary Business Names
• Registration of Civil Marriages
• Administration of Estates /Payment of Commuted Pension
• Inspection of Companies with regard to Statutory Compliance
• Registration of Industrial Property Right, including Trademarks, Patents, Industrial Designs and Geographical Indications
• Registration Professional Bodies
• Registration of Adopted Children

RGD’S NEW REGISTRATION SYSTEM

The Registrar – General’s Department is currently updating records of existing companies and Businesses into a new electronic database dubbed the e-Registrar software. With this system all Directors, Secretaries, Share holders and Auditors of Companies are required to have their own Tax Identification Number (TIN) separately from that of the Business Entity which can only be generated after the submission of their individual TINs.

This will enable the RGD synchronize data with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and the Ghana Community Network Services Limited
(GCNet) under the Ghana
E-Government (GeGov) project to facilitate online Registration.

DVLA introduces New Smart Driver Licenses and Vehicle Registration Certificates

A national education and public awareness creation initiative has been developed by the Driver and Vehicle Licencing Authority (DVLA) and multiple government and private-sector partners. The agenda is to sensitize the general motoring public on the introduction of a new regime for driver licencing and vehicle registration and the benefits that these innovations deliver to the state as well as the individual.
